Events 4 Healthcare Ltd, who specialise in delivering bespoke events for the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical industry, today announced details of its Clinical Discovery Annual Conference 2012, to be held on Tuesday 16th October, 2012 at The Royal Society, London.

New models for the value-based pricing of pharmaceuticals are actively in development. Decision-makers in healthcare are increasingly using the highest quality scientific evidence to support clinical and health policy choices. It is imperative, more so than ever before, that everyone engaged in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical research focuses on the incorporation of measures that enhance its value and impact. This years' conference brings together experts from across the UK's clinical research community to explore the mechanisms by which this may be achieved.

Dr. Mark Edwards, Director at STI Partnerships Ltd and former Director of Science and Medical Public Affairs at Pfizer, has put together the agenda for this conference "Having chaired last year's Clinical Discovery conference, I was delighted to be asked to design the agenda for the 2012 meeting. Being able to measure the impact of health research, clinical or otherwise, is critical to the successful application of research outcomes and to inform future research direction and funding. Yet, it's something that's only relatively recently been given heightened attention. For research into innovative medicines in particular, the advent of the era of value-based pricing makes this focus all the more vital. Adopting the central ethos of Clinical Discovery, namely the sharing of knowledge, best practices and learnings, the 2012 conference will show how the UK clinical research community can advance this topic and work for 'collaborative advantage'.
